The Mount Underwood fire last year came a little too close to home, so we made the really difficult decision to have PROPANE FIRES ONLY this season.
It’s not ideal, we know. Each year is getting hotter, dryer, and while the winds at China Creek are epic for kiteboarding, all of those factors combined make the risks high.
Propane fires will help keep everyone and this beautiful place safe. Still cozy. Still s’mores-worthy. Just a little more controlled.
As long as there is no provincial fire ban in place fires are okay at the communal cookhouse.
