Open April 1 – September 30th, our 250 tent and RV campsites offer full hookups with hydro, water and septic, partial service with hydro and water or enjoy an authentic wilderness camping experience in our un-serviced beach or creekside sites.

Due to the high risk at China Creek, fires are not permitted on the beach.  There is often a fire ban during the camping season, we encourage visitors to bring a propane fire pit, so they can safely enjoy a campfire.

China Creek Campground offers a unique Port Alberni camping experience. Enjoy beautiful views of the Alberni Inlet, a large quiet natural beach and nearby access to the world class fishing and hiking.  Our campground amenities include a playground, bike park, onsite washrooms with showers, coin operated laundry services, propane tanks available for purchase or exchange, and a full service marina. Marina amenities include a four lane boat launch, onsite fuel dock, fish cleaning station and ice.

Via the Horseshoe Bay / Departure Bay Ferry:

Exit the ferry, and turn right onto Brechin Rd. Proceed up the hill, and take a right onto BC-19A N. Follow the highway out of Nanaimo, where it joins with BC-19 N.

Continuing on the Inland Island Hwy 19 North for approximately 30 minutes. Take exit 60 to Port Alberni and Tofino as it merges onto Alberni Hwy 4 West.

Continue following the Alberni Hwy 4 to Port Alberni passing scenic Cameron Lake and the iconic old growth trees in Cathedral Grove.

Enter Port Alberni and stay to the right of the Visitors Centre at the start of town and continue travelling along Alberni Hwy 4 as it changes into Johnston Rd.

Turn left onto Gertrude and continue travelling ahead as it turns into Stamp Avenue and then into 3rd Ave.

Travelling approximately 2.5km on 3rd Ave, following the sign to Bamfield and China Creek, turn left onto Ship Creek Rd. and continue as it turns into Franklin River Rd.

Travel for approximately 10km staying to the left and following the signs to Bamfield and China Creek.

China Creek Campground & Marina is approximately 2 hours and 40 min drive from Victoria, BC.

Follow the Trans-Canada Hwy/ BC 1 North approximately 105km then stay right taking the BC Hwy 19 North ramp to Parksville and Campbell River.

Continuing on the Inland Island Hwy 19 North for 48kms

Take exit 60 to Port Alberni and Tofino as it merges onto Alberni Hwy 4 West.

Continue following the Alberni Hwy 4 to Port Alberni passing scenic Cameron Lake and the iconic old growth trees in Cathedral Grove.

Travelling North on the Island Hwy 19A, merge onto the Inland Island Hwy 19 continuing North following signs to Port Alberni for 48kms.

The Port Alberni Port Authority is responsible for both the day to day operations of the harbour, and the long term improvement of the waterfront facilities, including recreational marinas and secondary industries to the extent that these activities are specified in the Port Alberni Port Authority Letters Patent. The Port Authority is committed to working with the community towards economic diversification; its vision “to be a thriving diversified port”. The mission of the port is to facilitate profitable maritime trade and marine related tourism and industry by offering services and leadership that respect both the community and the environment. The Port Authority operates five successful marinas, Clutesi Haven, China Creek, Harbour Quay, Tyee Landing and Fishermen’s Harbour; Small Craft Harbour for the commercial fisheries.  Along with our marinas the port leases park lands from the Alberni-Clayquot Regional District to operate China Creek Campground.
